FREE FREE FREE

I received this chair
from a nice lady on Freecycle.
It is need of some TLC, new fabric that is.
Chair is very sturdy and I love the style.
I am just trying to decide what type of fabric to do it in.

My sofa is a blue and white check, so maybe the chair would look good in a blue and yellow.

Anyway, this is my first attempt upholstering a piece
I will post the finished work when it is completed.

If you have never been to the Freecycle in your area, you can find it by going through Yahoo groups. This is a place where everyone gives away their items instead of filling our landfills. I have given away many things and also have received many items. It is a great way to recycle. Help our Earth. Give it a try.
The Freecycle Network™ is made up of 4,299 groups with 4,721,000 members across the globe. It's a grassroots and entirely nonprofit movement of people who are giving (& getting) stuff for free in their own towns. It's all about reuse and keeping good stuff out of landfills. Each local group is moderated by a local volunteer (them's good people). Membership is free. To sign up, find your community by entering it into the search box above or by clicking on “Browse Groups” above the search box. Have fun!

Oh What A Night

Some of their hits.
Oh What A Night , Big Girls Don't Cry, Sherry, My Eyes Adored You, Dawn, Hold On , Can't Take My Eyes Of Of You

Thursday night my DH and I went into NYC and saw a Broadway show. The Jersery Boys.

Many of you, I know must have grown up with Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. It was just like stepping back to 1965, my teenage years. If you get the chance to see it, I would highly recommend it. Excellent!!!
If you would like to see clips or hear the music, go here:

Sunny Monday

Today was so beautiful in the Northeast. Sunny but a little chilly.
I went out to some of the local thrift stores and did a little shopping. I found some great buys. I will show them off on Friday at Show and Tell. So come back and take a look.
I can not wait for spring to arrive to my part of the world. I love sunflowers and these are such pretty ones.
I would like these in my yard.
My favorit spring flower is Johnnie Jumpups (Pansies).
What is your favorite spring flower?
Has spring come to your part of the world ?

HOW TIMES GOES BY

There are things I should have done in 2007.
Maybe things I should have said to others, things I should have accomplished for myself
or acts of kindness I was called to do.
However, I am glad we celebrate the birth of a New Year.
It gives us all a time to focus on our lives.
Time is wasted by so many of us.
Time that could be used to bless another, more time spent in prayer with our God or time to do the things we know we should be doing.
Intead we waste time. In our lives we all have an accounted time to live. Yet we do not know how many hours we have. Is it a day, another month or many years. And still we waste our time.

Would we live differntly if we knew what our lifespan would be? Maybe, maybe not. I would like to think we would. I encourage you to take this next year to change things in your life. Do something unexpected for someone, no need to wait for a special holiday. Search our your spiritual life or develope a relation with God. No need to wait until you are on the death bed. Do something you have been planning to do but never seems to get around to it. Remember, time is going by whether we do anything or not. At the end of the year will we find ourselves in the same place as we do this time of the year? I hope not.

Let's get busy and do what is what we know we all should be doing.

Don't waste your life.

Hosted by Kelli @ There's No Place Like Home
There is no place like home

These are the lavender wands I made from the fresh lavender
I got on Eastern LI a couple of weeks age. They are really nice. You squeeze the tops and can smell the fresh lavender. I have mine stitting in a small vase.
I was told that a new harvest will be ready in a couple of weeks.
I plan to go pick lavender to make more wands.
